The president is a bit more eloquent than I am. That’s probably why he lives in the White House and not the Treehouse.

Healthcare reform passes, 219-212!
We did it, bitches. 30 million uninsured people will get health coverage. No one can deny you coverage because you got sick in the past. Creative people and entrepreneurs won’t have to stay at a shitty job just to keep their coverage. 26 year olds who haven’t landed a good job yet can stay on their parents policy. And Rush Limbaugh said he’d leave the country.
And to the 34 Dems that voted against it, GTFO.
YES WE FUCKING CAN!

President Obama’s full Q&A with Republican leaders in Baltimore, MD.

Peter and Megan told me about this today. It’s very much worth an hour and seven minutes of your life. The video isn’t all that thrilling, so clean your apt while you listen or something. He more or less skewers all the talking points that have been leveled about the budget and healthcare reform over the past year in one hour. This shouldn’t be a rare treat, this is how it should be done.

NYT: Senate passes health care overhaul on party-line vote.
As of 7am east coast time, we now have both senate and house versions of a health care bill. Now it’s up to Obama to iron out the differences between the two. At the very least, we will have dramatically expanded coverage and discrimination based on health history discrimination will be outlawed. Here’s hoping that the house’s public option makes it into the final version.

This is a brilliant idea.
